In case you haven't been keeping tabs on this little blog, let me fill you in: I promised to try to get a few audio clips from the Knickerbocker's Tuesday Night Jazz Parties that we have come to know and love. I said I would attempt to post a couple on this blog.
It turns out that I can do you one better: What would you say to nearly all of the night's performances posted for your convenience and listening pleasure? Oh... and don't let me leave out the part about how is was carefully edited so as to reduce dead air time for maximum delight-ability. Not enough, you say? Tell you what I am going to do for you: I will throw in some photos and info from this past week's event to top it all off. No extra charge. They are listed below the audio clips. You drive one tough bargain - That's for sure.
You are welcome, you crazy kids. Now enjoy.
Yours Truly,
Jen
I have posted the session in three segments. If you don't have time to listen to them all at once, you should be able to pick up where you left off easily. I do it because I care.
Lots of new vocalists at the jam this week. Take a listen. Don't be shy. And if you are a musician in the area, don't be shy about coming down to play some music with us either!
This segment begins after the break in the evening. My favorite song of the night is in this segment - Harlem Nocturne. All I can say about it is Meow, babies. Meow.

Sounds awesome, Jen! Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteAny way I could get the raw tracks from you sometime? That'd be tops!
I am so happy that we can share this with our friends and family now. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteAnd absolutely I can! Send an email to the address I gave you and I will send them along.
By the way - I am missing the names of two vocalists: the man who sang summertime and the lady that sang bye bye blackbird. If anyone can advise... I would be most appreciative.
