Whatever kind it may be, get-togethers are really no different than they used to be ten, twenty or thirty years ago. 'Please bring a dish.' 'It's a surprise!' 'Dress casual.' Shower games remain a staple. Cookouts with friends are the highlights of everyone's summer. However, the way an invitee is notified of the special event has changed significantly.
These days you are likely to get an email, a Facebook RSVP or text message to let you know of a celebration. However, back in the days of postal mail, you might be pleased to get an invitation in your box. The themed card indicating when and where somehow added excitement to the occasion. I remember receiving an invite to a slumber party when I was very young. It is easy to recall the pretty floral seal used on the envelope and the way the firm card stock felt in my little hands. From time to fortunate time, while thrift shopping, I find terrific vintage invitations for all sorts of occasions. I hope you feel the same thrill I do from seeing these delightful little notes.
